Automating link campaigns

Building and mantaining a link campaign it's an enormous task. Specially if you have many sites.
I'm facing the challenge now with 4 5 sites at the same time and I'm getting crazy.

Many sites are not linking back, others do but I want to update the link data to mysite...

Mannally requesting, tracking and so on it's very time consuming.

So I'd like to know about alternatives (software, programs, services or anything else to make my life easier!)

Can you recommend some?
How do you actually manage it?
