Yes, you will get penalized by google and other search engines because you have to upload the links via FTP. I'm sure Google already knows about it.

Definitely bad along with other link farm type communities. This one has been on the radar for a couple of years and I'm surprised they are even still around.

Well, I took down linkstoyou and the next day Google finally indexed more then just my main page. Not sure if taking it down had anything to do with the crawl.

Avoid them all. Unfortunately, you have to get your hands dirty if you want to be above the boards. Spend time on your link campaign - it'll pay off.
