Anyone given away shirts/caps/visors for webmasters who link back to your site?
i've seen some sites do this, just wonder if its a good method to get some inbound links as well as branding!

There was a thread here a while back by someone who had great success in getting links by offering a software download. Best of all worlds - more links, plus zero incremental cost for the gift.

One of the best incentives I know is to have a PR 4 or above page and offer links from that page. PR 4 backlinks show up in Google and help SERPS. Other promotional stuff sounds gimmicky.

the idea is quite interesting. it gives extra motivation for people to link to you.
