Does anyone have any first hand experience of better conversions coming from males as opposed to females. Am I going to get better results sending the emails as

jennifer_smith@widgets.com
or
john_smith@widgets.com

or have you found there to be no difference. The reason I ask is the last 8 links requests I have gotten have all come from females.

There's alot of lonely webmasters out there.

You could try;
loose-mary@blahblah.com
or
easy_joanne@blahblah.com
or
village-bike@blahblah.com

Maybe you're just going through a purple patch and attracting a few ladies at the moment ;)

An interesting concept though.

Link-hunting firms sometimes request a unique e-mail for each domain and invent a name to go with it. It's remotely possible that the 8 requests were from one or two people. Perhaps you are known in the link trade biz as easy-links-graywolf... ;)

Send them as a female and include a nice pic:). It would work for me. What percentage of webmasters are female compared to male?

That's related to the point I was trying to make, if there are more male webmasters than female are they more likely to respond, or would you be more likely to respond cutesy_name@blah.com as opposed to bigbertha@blah.com.

Please don't everybody named Jennifer beat me up saying my name's not cutesy, or everybody named bertha start saying i'm not big and why are you picking on me. It's a hypothetical example any similarity between any persons living, dead, or imagined is purely coincidental.

hahahah! interesting questions and it indeed works. If u know the person whom you are making a contact is a male, send an email from a female and if she is a female send an email from a male.

:-)

Sorry , but I didn't think of a better answer.

Hey, I will switch sex for my next linking campaign :) Seriously, this sounds promising. I'm pretty sure the "conversion rate" is higher.

My last few requests were from females also. And the sex doesn't matter if the requests aren't well written. I'm quite tired of women from 'professional' firms expecting me to link to the clients first, then they'll link to one of my sites. Or my favorite "I'll tell you who I want you to link to if you show interest." Why answer?

I think females work best both ways, even if the target is female. I think it's also a cliche thing regarding woman and technology. I'd think women when recieving a request from another woman would thinkg "hey another woman on the internet, we gotta stick together!".

Of course this is just speculation from where I'm sitting ;)
