I'm thinking to set up a page with free JS for copy/paste in the textareas.

I'm also thinking to insert my url in the descriptions and set it up this way so as not to let site admins use the script if they delete the url - just as they do on most copy/paste javascript sources.

Do you think it can improve my link popularity in any way?
Do you think GoogleBot parses and is able to find and mark down urls within <script> and </script> - at least some types. I know it doesn't seem to parse js navigation, but what if I just type in "http://www.mysite.com" in there.

Any ideas?

I don't think it will help link popularity. It will probably be indexed, but any link pop would be minute.

Late to this one but just an aside...

When I use JS I use it in an external file. Last I heard Google does not parse the external file.

Thanks Reflect!

Analyzing some competitor's backlinks I just saw a few examples of what I've been talking about.

They didn't go external and the full url was in the script description. Google somehow managed to count this as a backlink.
