Writing my own inbound link anchor text

Can it be done on forms on posting boards?

I have a website which periodically holds events that I post listings for on various online community boards. Some of these boards actually have substantial page rank and probably carry weight with search engines.

I submit the ads myself and usually include a link to my site in the form [mysite.org...]

Does anybody know from experience whether I would be able to enter an html line such as:

<a href="http://www.mysite.org">
Some anchor text </a>

instead of my raw web address, and still have it properly interpreted by the software that generates my posting? This would allow me to include keyword anchor text, which is thought to be helpful in the search engines.
Thanks.

It depends on the sotware running the board.

For a good example, look at the WebmasterWorld "style codes" when creating or replying to a thread.

unless the site is on the same/similar thing as your site, why bother spending the time?

though on another note, I just got a huge laugh from this [mysite.org] page on your site... ;)
