So cannot harvest new links from links pages. Where does one look now? Going to have to ask my competition for links?

Crush, same as always: look for sites whose visitors will find your site useful. While some competitors will exchange links, I think efforts spent on non-competing sites will make the best use of limited time.
Naturally, directories and industry organizations should be some of the first to check out.

Tangentially related sites. If I have a "History of Widgets" page, I might look for pages about historical figures in the widget industry.

Crush think a little off subject.....ie if your site is about hotels then go looking things like golf clubs, airport sites.....then ask them for links.
