I actually have two questions here. First, I originally thought it would be beneficial to submit pages that link to your site so the SE would know about the links, and hopefully improve my link popularity. However, I read somewhere that you should not does this. Is it true, should I not submit pages from other sites that link to my site, and why not.

Also, do search engines add any relevance to a site for a link that goes through a redirect, like one from an affiliate program. Thanks for in advance for all your help.

i think it more that there is little point in submitting pages to a search engine anyway... google and ink will pick up pages eventually anyway and there is little to suggest that submitting them will speed up the process.

Also, do search engines add any relevance to a site for a link that goes through a redirect, like one from an affiliate program. Thanks for in advance for all your help.

google will follow redirects and count them as a link ... but see also
