I've been a paid subscriber since 3.x. I'm glad I had a chance to support this browser and that they've finally reached this point. In my opinion the Opera browser is the best one out there.

very much ditto, i've been a subscriber and huge fan since my introduction to 3.6
If this is something that you know for a fact I expect you to support your statement. (Unless your smiley tells that you're not completely sincere?)
If it is a personal interpretation I disagree. Untill someone proves me wrong. If it were a question of pressure from FF they would resist untill desperation forced them to give in. Norwegians are proud and stubborn people. And I don't think Opera were in a desperate situation.
I just hope Opera don't get the attention of hackers, spammers and alike... That was one of the main points in favor of Opera, the security.

Is there an easy way to import bookmarks and toolbar from firefox to opera? or is there a wizard like ff does?

Can't import toolbars - but many of the common toolbar features are already built into Opera.
They have been saying now for a couple of years that Opera was making all its money from licensing deals for the phone and set top box versions of Opera. The Windows version is now just helping to generate demand on the money makers.
i personally switched from firefox when they gave out free license keys last month or so.
Although personally I'm not moving from Firefox any competition is good competition in terms of getting new features implemented.
I guess they made enough from the embedding right for portables/phones?

the media="screen" tag stops the css being shown when in full screen.
The extensions do make FF less stable. Some users will prefer tabbed browsing plus stability.
When I open lots of windows in FF I find it uses more and more memory. Up to 400mb. And it doesn't come back when closing the windows. I don't know if it's one of the extensions causing the leak or the code itself.
Will be interesting to see what people say in a couple years. Personally don't think there is any killer app in Opera to get people to switch.

Opera requires media="projection" for fullscreen. So you need to do media="screen,projection".
The reason is that fullscreen mode in Opera is special. (Note the lack of toolbars.) You can actually use it to do presentations like Powerpoint slides. A site can also have two completely different styles depending on whether it's fullscreen or not.
However, I am one of several people who have campaigned for Opera to fall back to the same styles as normal mode when a fullscreen stylesheet has not been created. A majority of webmasters don't know about Opera's fullscreen mode, so their sites simply lose styles when you hit F11.
An announcement [newsweb.no] by Opera on the Oslo Stock Exchange that gives some degree of explanation of the background for the decision.
This is the move we've been waiting from Opera, still I just wish they put it to be Open Source and that's it. But again, Opera is the fastest browser on the planet, wondering if M$ or Mozilla/Firefox would take their rendering part of the code.
Deep Park still isnt half fast as Opera. Anyways these are some great news, not cuz of me I always had licensed version, but because of Opera future development.

Interesting! Exactly what the above means I don't know. But any help marketing is bound to be a good thing. I see plenty of marketing and hype for Firefox, but little for Opera.
Hey, maybe Google will add a link to download Opera on their main search page?
