Sounds obvious, but you didn't buy Opera, did you? The advertising preferences don't appear in the paid version.

Are you talking about switching the types of ads [opera.com]? Like graphics to adword ads?

How do I change my default advertising option?
To elect non-contextually targeted ads, click on File > Preferences > Advertising within your browser and choose "Show generic selection of graphical ads" as your default advertising choice. You can switch back to relevant ads by clicking on the "Show relevant text ads" radio button.

Don't forget that 7.21 final [opera.com] is out with lots of little bug fixes [opera.com].

That's what I mean. There is no 'advertising' under 'prefs' - just the usual security and fonts etc etc....

>buy

No ;)

Very strange. You might try to install 7.21 and see if the advertising section comes back.

Strange... I seem to remember being able to rightclick the actual ad and there was an option for ads on the context menu. Can't remember though.

Nick, did you get fixed up? I'm running 7.20 on one PC & it's there under pref's.
