Are there any utilties that will scan for malicious code within the .mdf/ .ldf files before attaching?

To my knowledge, there isn't a way to infect an MDF with a virus. Sure, it could be embedded as a blob, but I seriously doubt a virus scan of the MDF would catch that.
MDF's themselves aren't executable, so attaching them won't harm your server. If they file is corrupt of a virus hiding, SQL Server won't be able to attach it anyway.
