On my last computer, I had installed SQL Server 2000 database and analysis tools, which was great. I'm on an older machine now where I had only installed the analysis tools, and have tried installing the database with no success.
I downloaded SQL Server 2000 sp4 thinking that it would go ahead and install the db, but nope, it sure didn't. I don't have my disks anymore (thanks to moving) so no serial.
What steps should I take from here?

On the install disk there is a SQL Server Pre-requisites section to install first. My guess is you may need this. I think it installs Winsock and other stuff need for the main install.
What OS you using? Only the developer edition is supported for non-server Microsoft OS's.

I actually got it installed late last night. I downloaded the eval edititon, and it installed the database, and server tools. Now we'll see if it recognizes the serial that was used when the client tools were installed. (120 day eval)
