Any YPN participants care to share information about the type of website they run?
Big difference I've noticed is the lack of real-time matching of YPN verses Google.
If I create a page and serve a Google ad on it the results are somewhat relevant the first time the page is served. Even if its not a direct hit with the page topic it is a hit for the site's overall theme.
With Yahoo, the first time the page is served PSA's are shown rather than site themed ads. Wait a few seconds and serve the page again and targeted ads are delivered. This works fine with most sites, but on busy forums with new pages being generated all the time it won't work well.
The ads have been up for about 6 hours and are already targetted. I am serving a 120x600 with 5 ads. The first three are accurate and the last two are not.
No clicks yet, but it is 3:15am here.
Haven't bothered to put the ads up yet... not too impressed with the system - think I'll wait it out for a bit.
It's a very new site.
I'm EXTREMELY pleased with Yahoo on this one. The ads AREN'T targetted 100%, but for me, that's actually good.
Alot of teachers are looking for something better, so they get mixes of ad units with things regarding ESL teacher certification, but after those run dry, they start getting interesting things like speech pathology careers, etc.
My CTR isn't very high, mainly because I don't have alot of traffic yet (I'm trying to build up my jobs postings before getting lots of mainstream traffic), but I am getting INSANELY high amounts for my clicks.
If I get 1/4th of what I'm making per click once the beta is over, it'll still be killing adsense for me.
Go Yahoo!
