Why does YPN ask for SSN?

Hi,

YPN asks for SSN to be put into our profile for them to send us the payments. Why is this soo much necessary?

Also, what effects does it have putting my SSN on YPN?

They have to inform the IRS where their money goes and issue you a 1099 at the end of the year.

The above poster has it. In the US there are two ways entities are identified for tax purposes. The first is the EIN, used by corporations. The second is the SSN, used by individuals and small companies. Either way, Y has to report checks sent out to the IRS.
