Using YPN with Chitika ads

I'm a new YPN publisher and Chitika publisher.
I just tried putting YPN with Chitika on the same page &
Yahoo ads show up where Chitika ad should be.

This doesn't happen with Adsense. Adsense & Chitika show up on the same page.

Is there something I don't know about or is it just
1:30 am? :)

#5 in Yahoos T%C

Exclusivity. For any webpage that includes the Ad Code, you agree not to display or link to any other advertising (including but not limited to any listing) that is mapped to or responds to the content of the Ad Page.
--------------------------
Do not know if Chitika is displayed by using keywords in your content ie: mapped to or responds to the content but if so that is a violation of T%C

Right, but it still has to respond to your content in order to show relevant ads?

In Google you can turn off contextual ads and everything is fine...not so with Yahoo.

What do you mean by respond to your content

>>respond to your content

Another way of saying contextually targeted.

As long as you are using Chitika's keyword targeting and not contextual targeting, you can run Chitika and YPN on the same page.

Thank you for the clarification Jen, that is how I interpreted it.

I'm becoming a big fan of the "YPN + Chitika on the same page" approach. I think what's happening is that, when YPN can't or doesn't serve a highly targeted ad, Chitika is an attractive alternative to visitors. The trick is to take the time to come up with a few specific kw's to use in the Chitika code for that page's content. Don't get lazy and use a default set of kw's that only pertain to the general theme of your site. My Chitika income continues to rise as I add it to more pages that have YPN on them. Just as important, I'm not seeing any decline in YPN income (in fact, it's rising).

Swebbie, it's funny you mention that.

My articles used to contain 2 adsense blocks. I have since replaced the bottom (lower paying AS block) with the Chitika block.

The CTR for my top AdSense block went up 30% (of course Smart Pricing killed any extra income) but the Chitika block below is blowing the old bottom AdSense block out of the water... generally about 5x more revenue.
