BH thanks for the heads up! It looks like they have the whole class C.

It looks like they have the class Cs one up and down too. I haven't seen any crawling from these blocks yet -- but I'll add the Cs to my hot list.

I think they actually have 16 C classes in a row (a slash 20) according to arin.

I got completely burned by this one. I ran a batch file a few days ago, but it apparently failed on several sites. Meanwhile Google showed up and did a nice deep crawl. :( Maybe next month.

There's that slash again... :)

So has anyone seen any crawling from bots in neighboring class Cs?
216.239.4(1,2,3,4,5,7,8,9).xxx?
I'm on the lookout but haven't seen anything.

I haven't seen them myself. The classes in question are 216.239.32.* -> 216.239.47.*

In other words, considering just the last two parts (32.* up to 47.*), this is the binary range (in groups of 4 for clarity):

0010 0000 0000 0000
through to
0010 1111 1111 1111

The only ones that hit me were from 216.239.46.*

I will definitely be keeping an eye out for the others.

That truly is a lot of IPs. I gotta wonder if they will ever put them all to use.

I would start with the ODP page on Internet Protocol Next Generation [dmoz.org], which is also know as IPv6 I believe.
