Users of Yahoo! Local can now click a "send to phone" link which sends a text file of local listings to their cell phone or PDA.

I really think that whoever is most effective in developing mobile applications for local search is going to really well in this space.

Having tried this service numerous times this week, I must say that I am very impressed with its ease of use and potential utility.

What would be helpful is to allow the user to send a little message along with the listing. Something like "meet me here at 9" etc.

Yahoo local is continuing to impress.
