did leads.com pitch switchboard in the process?
>>Are there many re-sellers of this?
no, only a few companies are official Y!YP resellers. - recently acquired telemarketing firm, leads.com is one of them.
>>worked
we have bought for a couple of years with some success dependant on the relative company return considerations -product/service price etc. from our experience, service based offerings work much better than products and top positions in high traffic cats can do well for you.
Y!YP traffic is on its way down, from once being the leading YP on the Internet. The reason for such has everything to do with Y! Local and its being thrust into the spotlight from a traffic acquisition standpoint, thus taking over the critical tab on the Y search bar.
recently the long time director of biz dev at y!YP left his position at y,which is indicative of the future of that product.
they have been trying to figure out a way to mesh the local and yp products but this initiave has been in the works for well over a year, with more complications than solutions.
for your reference, this is one of the most expensive iyps in the market, but traffic once justified the cost. i would suggest to you that you go and look at your geo-vertical, determine the relative competition (total number) and make a determination as to your ability to compete. if you want to give it a try, make sure you do a one month deal and track the results. it still is a top yp. i just want you to understand the backdrop of the property.
