Installed it, rebooted, and WHAMO - Blue Screen of Death, terminal reboot syndrome.
Managed to track it down to an incompatible driver for my 12 year old scanner, killed that, and everything works fine now.
Downside: That scanner was the 2nd oldest piece of hardware I still had connected and running. *sigh* It had to go sooner or later, but I use it maybe once every few months, so didn't want to blow money on a new one.
Upside: "Hon, I have to go buy more computer equipment..." :) Nice excuse to blow geek money.
Oh, and XP2 seems to have killed my webcam, which is only a year old. Anyone else having XP2 and imaging equipment problems? Seems weird that the 2 things XP2 broke were both imaging equipment.
Usually the Windows 2000 drivers work, so you might try looking for those.
As far as your scanner, look on the bright side - scanners are so much cheaper than they used to be - the first one I ever bought cost 1400 dollars. The one that replaced it cost $140. :)
