I got a new Compaq XP Pro machine to replace my old 233 Win 2k machine. I had a series of scripts that go out to all the hosting companies I use and pull in the log files so I can run my log analysis programs.

code is post #5 if you want to see it

The scripts worked fine on win 2K, however when I run them on XP PRO the black screen just hangs. If I manually type "bye" it closes. However as I running quite a few instances for each of the sites thats not going to work. Anyone got any suggestions?

Just an idea, but try running them (the scripts) in compatiablity mode - telling the script that is Windows 2000 Pro.

You right click on the file, properties, compatiability tab and select Windows 2000.

I am not sure if this works for scripts but I have seen it work for many other older programs.
