Zone Alarm only asks you once and you can retain your response from that point forward, never to be prompted again. However, since we are in the MS OS forum I guess we can safely assume that is the Windows FW you are referring to rather than any other 3rd party FW?

According to the Windows Firewall [microsoft.com] page, If you choose to unblock the connection, Windows Firewall creates an exception so that the firewall won't bother you when that program needs to receive information in the future. To preclude these notifications you could add your application on the Exceptions Tab [microsoft.com].
