Q229940 allows you prevent the option to *save* passwords for websites using windows authentication, but requires a client side regedit and doesnt clear the existing savd passwords.

Is there a way to stop IE from *supplying* a saved password in either IE or directly in Win2K3 Server?

And is there a way to clear the user/pass completely when the site challenges the user so they always have to type in user/pass.

Thanks!

In Windows XP with IE 6 installed you can go to the Internet Properties which can be found in your Control Panel or from IE,
Tools¦Internet Options...
.

From there go to the Content tab. Then under the Personal information heading there's a button labeled Autocomplete... That's where you can turn off the password and form filling actions of IE.

Thanks bill, that dos it for forms theres one in IE->Security under user authenticationn that does the windows dialog box.

Thers also a bug in Win2K I found while doing this - if you disable copy and paste in IE security settings for non-trusted sites, In stops files copy working in windows. Win2K uses the IE engine for implementing security settings. Fixed in XP!
