To STOP CD ROM or DVD from RUNNING on your computer

Please can someone tell me what code do you stop a CD rom or DVD from running on your computer when you want to run a virus check on it... as someone is bringing their cd rom to my computer.. thanks

To disable autoplay:

- Click Start then Run and enter GPEDIT.MSC

- Go to Computer Configuration then Administrative Templates then System

- Turn autoplay off

thanks for that... i tried it and it did not work. i am using xp...lol....

but there is a code you use... on the keyboard a temporary code to stop the autoplay...but i cant remember what it is......

You mean holding down the shift key when you insert a DVD/CD to stop autoplay?
