uninstalled wingate, broke my dns

wingate uninstall, dns or sockets (?) issue

Title says it all really. The uninstall hung and I had to re-do it. tried reinstalling and uninstalling again, same thing. I can ping out to the Internet fine with ip addresses, definitely a name resolving issue.

Tried LSPfix, still no dice. I really don't have the time to reinstall windows to fix the problem right now. Any ideas? I'll be eternally grateful to any kind soul who can help with this. Its like having your air supply cut off!

well, after much pulling out of hair I re-installed TCP/IP and it did the trick.

If anyone's interested, think very carefully before installing wingate on a machine that matters to you!
