Account Policies on a domain

How strict is the access?

When setting Account/Password Policies at the domain controller level, is it possible for a user to override the settings on their workstation if they are logged in with Administrative priviledges?

Specifically, the policies described here:

No. The policies cascade from the Root all the way down to the Active Directory. An Admin account on a workstation can't override the permissions of the Domain unless that account has been given permissions to do so.

im still new to the hole active directory, i know of the things i can do with it on my domain at home but i am not too sure how to run it all, but i have had a problem with passwords, i can change them because they require a sapassword, and i need to know how to disable it, if you can help me with that i would appreciate it. thanks

What exactly do you want to disable?

well the message i get says that i cannot chage the password to any password i want....it has to be a strong password like so: abc123!@#, it has to have a letter, number and symbol in it so i have to diable the strong password requirement on the server so me and my users can chage their password to their liking.oh and thanks for the reply.
