Hello --

I am trying to build a matrix of systems to test software on.

What are the "best" service packs for windows?

e.g. if we are testing on win95, should we be testing on win95 vanilla, or win 95 with service pack X?

I am trying to compile this information for:
Win XP
Win ME
Win 98 SE
Win 2000
Win 98
Win 95

and Mac OS'es.

Thanks in advance
Marya

marya, welcome to WebmasterWorld and sorry for the delayed response to your post.

The simplest answer would be to say the latest available service packs/patches. Except for Windows XP, for which you could argue that Service Packs 1 & 2 are both still in use, the older versions of Windows that you listed should all be using the last available updates.

It really depends on what you're using these OS's to test. For the Mac OS's you'd have better luck asking in our Macintosh forum [webmasterworld.com].
