let me know if anyone has any information about the PAM(password authentication module) in windows XP. can u suggest any good article or good link

You'll be interested in the MSGINA (GINA)... I've worked with it before, with an agreement from Microsoft, a long time ago. Anyway, that's another story. :)

Anyway, PAM actually stands for

[b]Pluggable[/b] Authentication Module
. It's really a system that's only in use in the *NIX domain, although I was able to find some interesting stuff on it, and this one looks really kinda neat: [samag.com ]
