PCI 2.1 Sound Card compatible Older m/b

I want to install the audigy zs soundcard into my Intel m/b but noticed that the spec for the card is
PCI 2.1. When I check or try to find the PCI spec for the motherboard, all i find is just 'pci'. Need
expert help to determine if i can install this card
into my mobo. P4.2.66mhz. 1gb rambus. Sony ddu720a dvd/rom. thanks .

Motherboard MANUAL does state 'PCI 2.2'. I hope that
it is backwards compatable to PCI 2.1?
