Hi,
I don't know much about chips.
Which do you think is the better bet on a dedicated server?

Sempron 2600 or Athlon Xp 2400. Both have same ram.

Thanks.

The XP is being phased out. The Semprons come in the old format and the new 754 pin. It makes sense to go for the 754 pin.

Personally I would go with Intel. I had a server with (2) AMD cpu's and faced overheating problems.

We've had an Intel vs AMD "discussion" here [webmasterworld.com]. ;)

I've got a server with two Athlon MP 2200s, and heat is a concern but I haven't found it a problem.
