How do I get traffic to a new Social Bookmarking site

I have just build a new social bookmarking site specifically relating to shopping activities..shopping news, product reviews, stores news etc..

Does anybody know the best way to let the world know about this site..

JP, I'd say many of the same promotion priciples used for forum communities apply - check the library [webmasterworld.com] for some ideas.

One thing that is different is that other sites can help you grow. For instance, on blogs I'll often add links to Digg, My Yahoo, etc. This is helping promote the blog, but it's also helping the exposure of those bookmarking/tagging sites.

Perhaps you can identify some shopping sites that would do some cross promotion with you - add your links to their pages in return for some kind of promotion on your site.
