RSS feed how to automatically ping?

I have an RSS feed working on my site.
1) Now, how to get others to pick up my feed
2) how do I automatically ping daily?

I know about the ping at ping-o-matic but this means I have to remember to do it daily.

There must be some sort of cron job that can do this for me.

You can use wget to make an http request in cron to pingomatic or install xml-rpc setup with cron.
