Are you planning to add a wee bit of seasonal colour to your forum over the holiday period? I've got my Santa smilies all ready and raring to go. I'm also thinking of adding to my phpbb forum the theme snowSilver for a short period closer to Christmas - my members would love a white Christmas ;-) What if anything are you doing?

Bah, humbug! Christmas ... grumble, grumble ... no Christmas theme for us.

I used the snowSilver theme once myself because I thought it would look cool for the membership when they visited the board. Well, got two types of responses:

1) Wow! way cool! 10%

2) Hey! Get rid of this theme! It keeps stalling out my computer! 90%

Turned out the animated graphics were causing problems for the majority of the members for some reason.

You might want to try it out on your own machine first. Upload it to the themes directory and select it as your own private one to see how it plays out. You and/or your users may experience better results than I.

Hi Litefoot,

Thanks, I'll give snowSilver a test as you advised. If I use it it'll only be for about two days over Christmas because the animation would probably get a bit monotonous for us.

There are other non-animated Christmas themes which I'm also considering - these I'm sure wouldn't annoy if left longer.
