offering $$$ for posting

Hello,
i have a new forum and i want more people to involve in, so that i can get lots of local ads...

thats y, i want to offer some amount of money to people posting at my forum.
like
for one post 1/- and money will be paid when made 500 posts i.e. 500/- equal to 12$.

this is not big amount, if i can get many local ads, but when i discussed about this to my friends, they said its a cheap trick and dont play.

now i changed and have a new plan.

now i want to say people that...
for posting x amount of posts...i will give me some gifts like
domains,
space,
some other gifts.

which idea do you like? and which one works well.
do you think, first idea is a cheap one.

i request everyone who read this thread to reply, so that i can get good idea of what to do.

If you just read through the recent threads in this forum, you'll find a lot of input about incentives, etc., and probably find other suggestions for increasing members/activity that you haven't even thought of.
