Add a forum inviting blogs

Seems to me that there are folks out there in our communities who would like to have their own blog. Has anyone thought of giving them space on your forum for such a thing,

I've no experience with blogs but I would have thought just adding an extra forum to your board and inviting the extroverts to commence their own blog on it would get the visitors coming back for more. Sounds simple but thought I'd ask your thoughts here.

To me it sounds like a great idea. Blogs do seem to be the lastest Internet craze, maybe here to stay. But, I'm no forum expert, just started my first a few months back. No experience with blogs either.

We added a blog for members this week, every active member gets one as a thank you...

So far it is a full success, not only has everyone that received the blog is using it, but also people are commenting on it like crazy.

I am very happy so far with the decision we made...

That's great viggen. Since I started my forum, I've been thinking more along the lines of an extended profile page for each member, where they can post whatever they want. I guess that is along the same lines as a blog...

We use the Weblog feature of phpbb, and it is turning into a very popular feature.
Any registered member can create their own full Blog easily, so simplicity reigns supreme.
Nice feature.
