Ok, I'm writing a technology blog . . (e-mail me for the url if you wanna give me more suggestions) and I've tried to do what I can to get some traffic.

1) Submit to search engines (not all yet but am continuing

2) Submit blog to blog directories (many of them)
3) Submit blog feed to feed directories
4) Write content . .content and more content.

Now I must mention that this blog is like a week old so maybe I'm just over reacting.

I'm just getting like 1-2 people a day and no one comes back.

Also, do you have any advice on how to keep people coming.

You may participate in Forum or places which has people interest in the topic which you generate in blog and let them visit your website. YOu might distribute the content and article which is showing only a brief information and create link in more details in your blog site.

Forget #1, 2 and 3 are good but not key, 4 is most important so focus on that.

Another strategy you should implement is pseudo-comment spamming. Go to other blogs like yours and comment on their posts. Don't say "I like your post. Visit my site . . ." THose kinds of comments will be removed. Read and comment intellegently and then leave your URL. People will finish reading that post and then click through to your blog. If your blog is good the owner will add you to their list of blogs and suddenly you have all of their 1000 pages linking to you. Repeat that with 10-20 blogs and you will have some serious page rank.

Use catchy titles that *make* people want to read the post, and then use something like pingomatic.com (you can automate what they do) to make sure all the feed networks are getting pinged with your blog details after every post.

Isn't Google ignoring URLs in comments nowadays?
