Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com] johnmartin.

There is a great thread in the forum library [webmasterworld.com] which you should read:

  • Starting a Web Community - Care and Feeding of a New Forum [webmasterworld.com]

That should get you started with some ideas!

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, John. Is your site an all new community, or are you building a community onto an existing site?

It it's all new, you have a double challenge - you don't have the benefit of existing traffic from search engines and repeat visitors, so you have to build traffic AND get those visitors to participate in your community. Good luck, this forum has a lot of experienced community-builders to help answer your questions.

It's all new, and yup I realize that I have a lot of things to do so that my online community will have visitors. I am really facing a Big challenge --getting Traffic and visitors.
