How difficult is it to setup vBullentin so that it can be logged in when a user logs in from my .net based index page? Also, I would like to feature the latest forum threads on the site's homepage, is that possible if the homepage is built in .net?

I think you can get the latest threads in RSS, although I haven't done it.
The unified login is a bit trickier, but I suspect it can be done with some coding that does the vbulletin login after authenticating in the .net software.
