Hi guys how should i go about getting a moderator and new forum traffic mine is dead at the moment thanks.

First off, promote your site a bit more. Have larger sites link your site around.
As for the moderator, pool your close circle of friends. This is important, you want a moderator you can trust, not someone who will go on a power trip and scare away any potential users.
Better yet, if you dont trust any of your friends that theyll do a good job, moderate the forums yourself, and then after a few weeks, identify your users who post the most or post the most "decent" posts, ask them if they would mind "managing" each respective forum.

I wouldn't worry too much about mods until you have some traffic going, unless you are really hoping for a "discussion starter" type of mod.

There are some good threads in the library [webmasterworld.com] about launching new forums and boosting activity at existing ones.
