I've recently switched from phpBB to Vbulletin...Wondering if anyone out there has added a portal to their vBulletin, like vBadvanced or vBportal?

Our members aren't exactly the most web savvy, so i'm not sure if adding one will make it a bit complicated, but i'm interested in hearing anyone's experiences with them, as well as which ones you like!

Thanks!

I haven't actually installed one of the portals, although the concept of a more interesting home page for a forum is a good idea. I think one factor is whether your site has a lot of other content, and what form it's in. If the forum is more or less an appendage to a successful site, then there's less need for a portal page.

vBIndex and vBAdvanced seem to be the portals of choice, and both are popular. The latter has a version with a content management system.

That's kind of how ours is. I'm inclined to agree, and will probably hold off.

Thanks! :)
