So does anyone have the slightest idea how SE friendly the open source PHPBB system is? Or for that matter have anything against it?

can I use Adsense in conjunction with it?

Friendly enough, just need's a few tweaks to get the best out of it though (but that's like most things in life).

It can run adsense the PHPBB forum says so.

Yep, phpbb is very search engine friendly if you take care fo the session id problem. I have a littel over 10000 pages of my forum listed in google.

I also use adsense and it only took a little phpbb tweaking to not have the ads on login, information, etc pages.
