FYI, I have sent several bug reports/feature requests to gmail-support@google.com, and though it took several days to get responses, I did receive responses from all of the submissions. Some were boilerplate responses, but some were personal responses. It looks like Gmail Development is being responsive--they're just a bit overloaded. So, if you have feature requests or bug reports, by all means contact Gmail Support directly. Posting to these kinds of forums certainly sparks interest and discussion, but unless you go directly to the source, you may not be heard.
