Given that Gmail spam gets deleted automatically after 30 days the number of spam emails you have at any given time represents a 30 day moving average.

Mine is fairly constant at around 125, what's yours?

It has hovering right at 5000, but I disabled a couple of my spammy addresses that were forwarding to gmail, and it's slowly crawling down, at 4500 right now.

We get in the region of 400 per day but I go through them a few times a day and delete them after reviewing them.

A few vailid e-mails do end up there.

Not that i'm condoning spam at all, but my spam comes in at such a steady, predictable rate that it very effectively acts as a system monitoring tool for my email forwarding.

No spam in the last hour? Something is definitely wrong...

Some kind soul saw to it that I am now the happy recipient of approximately 300 spam mails every single day...

i used to get about 80-100 a day now im at 10-20

Mine jumps, usually at around 600 it can break 800 on some days.

I wish they just hide that number. They used to, when they first released it.

One thing I've noticed is that for the last two weeks the number has been down about 50%.
