Gmail Spam Folder

Gmail has great spam filtering, but that folder will fill up quickly.

OK this is off topic for the category but I couldn't find anywhere else to put it.

The problem is that although gmail is great for combating spam if you are a heavyweight user like me your spam folder will fill up quickly, at the moment I have over 200,ooo messages in my spam folder, and I know these are all spam.

To delete these 100 at a time will take forever, there have been posts on this site one of which googleguy answered for a bulk deletion of the spam folder, its not happened yet!

Also when I go into the spam folder I'm greeted by the message;

Note: Spam messages more than 30 days old will be automatically deleted.

This is not happening, the oldest message in the folder is from Oct 12th.

I've submitted feedback but still no change, come on sort this out.

Heh maybe all the WW members could write up all the interface problems and submit them to GoogleGuy :D I've submitted a few very valid suggestions but alas no change as yet.

The automatic deletion after 30 days is working in my account -- your experience may be unique.

It would be nice to have the option of reducing the length of time to say 15 days in cases where the spam can actually bump the account usage past the storage space. If people wouldn't abuse it, (ha!) the spam could also just not count toward the space limit.

Nah the only 100 at a time thing is a real pain. Also annoying is that if you realise something is not spam and then read it you have to move it to the inbox and then archive it- the same applies in about 5 other situations when it could easily be 1 step with an extra option in the drop down menu.

Nah the only 100 at a time thing is a real pain.

I hear that, it's the one thing I like more about the mail app on my computer than gmail.
Spam Folder > Select All > Delete. :D
