The problem is that although gmail is great for combating spam if you are a heavyweight user like me your spam folder will fill up quickly, at the moment I have over 200,ooo messages in my spam folder, and I know these are all spam.
To delete these 100 at a time will take forever, there have been posts on this site one of which googleguy answered for a bulk deletion of the spam folder, its not happened yet!
Also when I go into the spam folder I'm greeted by the message;
Note: Spam messages more than 30 days old will be automatically deleted.
This is not happening, the oldest message in the folder is from Oct 12th.
I've submitted feedback but still no change, come on sort this out.
It would be nice to have the option of reducing the length of time to say 15 days in cases where the spam can actually bump the account usage past the storage space. If people wouldn't abuse it, (ha!) the spam could also just not count toward the space limit.
