I've had a problem all morning (from the UK).

seems to be fine in central USA, excluding the sadly inevitable arrival of the first piece of spam on a particular account :(

it's relly strange since my partner (same network) does NOT have any problems ..

any ideas what to do? maybe it's a cookie issue?

It WAS a cookie issue - deleted them all and now it works.

My guess is geospecific cookies. I had travelled to Europe ...

Am not sure this is such a smart thing?!

Im in Canada, and it just gives a black screen when you go to gmail. This has been going on for the past 5 or 6 hours. I already cleared all the cookies.

Bummer - Outgoing Pop Mail isn't working this morning.

Appears to be an authentication problem.

No biggy as we are using our ISP to send the mail but that means we are not storing a copy on Gmail as a back-up.

Could this be a problem caused by SPAMmers?

Seems to be working intermitently again but I have been having issues with both receiving and sending to & from OE all day.

I've sent a report to Gmail.

Sometimes I've had to try 2 or 3 times to receive mail that I know is in the in-box but OE tells me there is nothing there.

Finally late this afternoon full sending and receiving access was restored to the POP mail system.

This may have been a single server problem.

No answer from tech support however I'mm glad everything is working properly again.
