Forum Moderators: phranque
Perhaps companies that think they can force us to listen to their messages — their banners, their interruptive graphic crawls over the pages we're trying to read — will realize that our ability to flit from site to site is built into the Web’s architecture. They might as well just put up banners that say "Hi! We don't understand the Internet. Oh, and, by the way, we hate you."
Hehe - love it! :)
An interesting look at the web.
I would be a good way for web designers to visualise the growth of their site (ie in terms of how big a part of the web they are and how close to the periphery they are).
For example, IMHO, WebmasterWorld, is very much a large part of the net. Not in terms of size, as the rest of the net obviously dwarfs it, but in terms of how well intergrated (number of backlinks, references, users) into the net it is.
But, a new site with only a few links is just on the outskirts of the web trying to "merge" and integrate with the rest of it. Push its way in as it were.
Random Monday morning drivle - please ignore! :)
