What would you do with a 40 hour work day?

I would spend more quality time with my family and friends. I'd take my daughter out of Day Care and spend days with her, playing, going on nature walks, collecting bugs, building dirt castles and enjoying watching her grow up.

The pill would let me stay awake to work all night, when no one is around.

If you work with outsourced, overseas teams then they already are.

But I agree, it'd be like gaining another 20 years of life, just they are compacted within the same calendar years.

Flu is very good for that. I slept from Thursday evening through to Saturday morning a few weeks ago.

Perhaps you should hang around in doctor's surgeries? :)

On the X-files, there was an episode where soldiers were trained never to sleep. Eventually, one went crazy and killed the rest so they could finally sleep. "Metabolically enhanced" soldiers indeed! :)

Maybe I speak mostly for myself and a few others around me (college+contract web dev.)... but i consistently stay up for 40+ hours once to twice a week. When I do sleep, never more than 4.5 hours.

I suppose the difference is this method is supposed to be "safe"?
