Balloon in car creates XL explosion [cnn.com]

Hey guys, I got a cool idea! Let's fill a rubber baloon, which is well known for its static electricity properties, with an extremely explosive gas and take it to a public place! Wouldn't that just be a HOOT?!

Wouldn't they need to remove themselves from the genepool to be a contestant?

that's right - they wouldn't qualify for a Darwin unless the blast also knocked his $#@! off or rendered her sterile.

What a lovely story :)

I remember in High School filling those little wax paper milk cartons from the lunch room with acetyline from the shop classes. Light the corner of the carton and run like a banshee :o

Of course, I wouldn't do anything so foolish anymore ;)

<rolls eyes> Yeah I knew someone was going to call me on that. :-D But there have been honorable mentions for those that haven't completed the course requirements.

This is just nuts. Just crazy. And to think they were going to a game, what did they expect to do with it once they got it there?

PS sorry everyone I DO know how to spell balloon.

suffered busted eardrums

Hmmmm...

Granted, driving around with a balloon full of acetylene is probably in my top 10 of "the dumbest things I've ever heard"

But should they not have suffered "broken" eardrums?

Oh wait - CNN...

yeah...
