Just read Seth Godin's book, Purple Cow [sethgodin.com] and if you don't read many marketing books, read this one.

Transform Your Business By Being Remarkable

We're so inundated with advertising that we simply don't see most of it and Seth makes a good point, in a world filled with brown cows people learn to overlook them, but a purple cow, that gets your attention.

One of the big lessons in the book? Safe is risky. If you're following the leader you'll never catch up, so do something different, take a risk, or several.

Lots of good advice in that thin little book.

I was going to buy it, but the number 13 scared me off. I never have anything to do with the number thirteen. Looks like a good book though.

Bit of a coincidence, I was at a hostel in new zealand just a matter of weeks ago called the Purple Cow.. one of the best places I've ever stayed..

Okay, so the 13th was a bit unlucky for the Templars but unless there's a king out there that wants to kill every member of your order so he can get his hands on the order's wealth, you're probably safe. 'Sides, the copy says 'less than $13'.

The only way to buy one [the book] is to buy TWELVE!

...a novel approach...

Thanks to Milka, purple cows are pretty commonplace in Europe. I'm not sure anyone would blink if they saw one. >;->
