OK guys, you've effectively excluded all Fooites who are not proficient in the language. Translation would be in order.

The phonetic "Gung (Kung) hay (hei) fat choy" - is an equivalent to "Happy New Year".

"Happy New Year" to all celebrating the occasion... Where's my dimsum?

Sun nien fai lok = Happy new year

Gung hay fat choy = May you become prosperous.

those two are Cantonese

Xin nian yu kuai

is Mandarin ( as Shak said )= Happy new year ..

As far as I know ..fromrocky posted vietnamese greeting ..for "Tet" ..and the correct translation to english is ..? ..rocky ;)

all translations are approximate within cultural limits ..

I had a few too many of the Japanese spirits last night...please keep the volume down on the karaoke machine and don't make any unnecessarily loud noises... I'm going to crawl back under my rock now. ;)
