I'm not a native english speaker, so I have never practiced with writing numbers in words in English. How do you write?
25.00
123.45
1,234.56
I'm not sure whether the cents goes in words or in numbers either.
Thanks for your help.

Many ways to do it. On checks, you'll often see "One hundred twenty three and 45/100 dollars" For an even amount, I'll use XX/100 dollars.
Important thing is to fill up all the space so additional words can't be added to alter the amount.
BTW, I'm from the U.S.

What arran said except leave out the first "and" in examples two and three. :)

What Lawman said but leave the "and" in place in examples two and three if you're writing cheques for the UK.

In the UK we usually write out the pounds but leave the pence as numbers when writing a cheque. Then we fill up and space with lines to prevent additions.

That was exactly my doubt, where to use "and" and where not to use. Well, I wrote my first few checks yesterday and I did use the "and", but checks are USA. So, it seems I made it UK-style, oh, well... Just hope they don't bounce.

having an extra 'and' on the line won't make any difference in the processing of the check. Rest easy

Not to worry. So many people get it wrong, it might be right. :)

On checks, having you write out the amount in numbers and in words is more of just a double check to make it harder for someone to change the amount. They are not going to get all english teacher about how it is written.
